Camhs _storiesEllie 17 In the past year coming to CAMHS I have learnt and developed a lot of things about myself. Some of the things I have changed are I have learnt how to value myself a little bit and that sometimes you have to do what's best for you and that doesn't make you selfish. I have also learnt that no-one is perfect.

Sian 15 I have been trying to work on not judging myself. I can't stop the feelings I have about myself, but I have learnt not everyone judges you straight away. Some people get to know you first and not everyone thinks bad things about you. I have been trying to become more independent and I have tried things that before coming to CAMHS I would never have done.

Matt 17 I have learnt to trust again. It takes a lot for me to trust someone and I have felt able to tell things that I would never have told anyone. I hope that I will be able to trust more people and progress even more. But the main thing that I now know is that I am not alone, people are there to help, and that's the best thing I could have asked for.

Nadine 17 I didn't think that I would ever shake OCD and that I was stuck with it for life. When OCD first appeared I thought I was going mad and was scared that I'd never get better and my life was over. After a few weeks of feeling really unhappy I told my mum what was happening. She suggested that I talk to someone to deal with it. At first I didn't think therapy would help because I had tried talking about OCD before and the OCD was getting stronger if anything, but I decided to give it a try and I am glad that I did.

With the advice and support that I got form CAMHS I have been able to overcome OCD and tackle many of my other worry and responsibility issues that have held me back for most of my life.

Because of everything that I learnt at CAMHS I am able to feel excitement about going to university or college next year without the excitement being overpowered by anxiety and dread.

I have been helped to remove a lot of unnecessary responsibility I've carried around which has allowed me to be a normal teenager again.
